The California College & University Police Chiefs Association has rapidly become one of the most influential voices in the California legislative process. As public policy concerning public safety on campuses of higher education evolves and adjusts to a changing society, CCUPCA remains a highly-valued perspective to our State Senate and State Assembly members.Crime prevention, victimโs rights, technologies, and the commitment to creating greater continuity in all law enforcement legislation to make campuses and communities safer are our key priorities. CCUPCA offers excellent resources for ongoing professional development through a catalog of learning opportunities. In addition to our Annual Conference and General Assembly that features many of the most skilled and insightful experts in a variety of relevant fields, we also offer our annual Executive Development Update Course, certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). CCUPCA is also proud to offer a truly unique member-executives program in two forms: Peer Mentoring for newly-appointed Chiefs and Directors, and our Peer Review Panel to provide organizational assessments to assist our newest leaders in these roles to more accurately and fully understand agency assets, skills, needs and appropriate options for achieving desired objectives. CCUPCA is proud to recognize those individuals, units, teams and agencies who have distinguished themselves in service to their campuses, contributions to the mission of higher education law enforcement, as well as those individual acts of conspicuous courage and bravery.
